All the things that made me hate Biebs — the delicate pre-pubescent sexuality— are the things I love about him now. He’s prettily dainty and trying desperately through song to prove to me that he can handle me. I can appreciate that.
He rounded up the other white guys and 2 Chainz (for some edge, maybe?) and gave me a remix that I listened to 5 times in a row while singing into my Justin Bieber toothbrush.

“Yellow looks good on brown,” said my friend with his designer’s eye.
I agree, she looks like a walking summer’s day.

Shepard Fairey Piece of the Day: Ebony magazine commissioned street artist Shepard Fairey (of Obeyand HOPE fame) to create artwork of the late Trayvon Martin to accompany a piece in this month’s issue. Fairey writes:
I have followed Trayvon’s case closely and I think any compassionate human being can relate to Trayvon as a brother or son and would want to see a thorough investigation into the killing of an unarmed person. In my portrait I wanted to emphasize Trayvon’s humanity as well as the public outcry for a just investigation into his death.

The public outcry portion can be seen from the protesters images in his hoodie. We like that touch.

D'Angelo: He's Baaaccckkk! -

Anybody who’s a friend of mine knows that my love for D’Angelo is serious business. “Brown Sugar” was the first explicit lyrics album I ever bought (in 2003, 8 years after the albums release— that’s saying something) and I don’t care if he was talking about his momma’s cooking, the video for “Untitled” marked the moment I blossomed into a woman.

My love for D’Angelo runs deep— I felt especially close to him after I followed him around Kroger that one time.

Welcome back. My ears have missed you. Read the full GQ article here.
